A microprocessor contained within the FASTEL invertor automatically self tests the emergency lighting in excess of the requirements of BS 5266.
48 hours after the mains is connected to the unit a 3 hour full duration commissioning test is carried out, checking both lamp and battery capacity followed by battery training to preset deep discharge protection point.
8 days later a short test checks both lamp and battery.

The above cycle of three short tests and one full test is carried out on a 32 day cycle until the mains supply to the unit is interrupted. Once the supply is reconnected the testing cycle will start 48 hrs after connection, with a full duration commissioning test.
A test cannot be carried out within 48 hours of a previous test or of a mains failure exceeding 5 minutes.
To ensure that adjacent units do not test simultaneously, all test are randomly timed, plus/minus 12 hours, and are additionally randomly timed via battery capacity.
LED INDICATION
Green flashing - for 48 hours, prior to commissioning of following full duration tests
Solid green - System healthy, or self testing if lamp illuminated in test mode.
Flashing Red plus *sounder - Battery capacity or connection fault
Flashing Red (interrupted) plus *sounder - Lamp fault
LED extinguished - Mains failure / disconnection or faulty inverter.
* Sounder operates for 10 seconds every hour until the fault is rectified.
